The beginning of the story

 

Venum’s story is inseparable from Dragon Bleu. In May 2004, from the room of his small suburban apartment in Paris, Franck Dupuis created the first French e-commerce website dedicated to martial arts and combat sports. His vision was to make access to sporting equipment more simple and streamlined than the privately distributed and specialized stores the market was used to.

Franck, a visionary, was among the first in Europe to anticipate a wave forming: the giant that is Mixed Martial Arts today. Deciding to put Dragon Bleu products online, imported from Brazil, success was immediate and overwhelming. However, Brazilian brands in 2004 and 2005 did not show

Venum is an innovative brand, in continuous search for performance. It is not a question of recreating what already exists, but driving change, proposing new experiences day after day.

 

Why the name Venum?

The snake is an animal carrying strong symbolism. They are lively, often fatal, inspiring both fear and fascination. The name Venum refers to the poison administered by the snake at the time of a bite. The U replaced the O for graphical harmony and balance. From inception, Venum is very proud of its logo and it is undoubtedly linked to the brands success.

From MMA to Boxing or Cross-Training, all disciplines covered by the brand are represented with courses delivered by high-level coaches. Our training camps are our real test platforms for real-life situations, allowing our engineering and research and development teams to design products in close collaboration with our professional athletes. This partnership is the catalyst which combined with our industry know-how allows us to evolve extremely quickly.

Far from stopping at the gates of sports halls, Venum has offered lifestyle collections with unique and innovative designs for several years already. Our goal is to show our tracksuits, down jackets, bombers or beach shorts to all fashion lovers looking for style and comfort. To rub shoulders with the giants of sportswear and prove that our fightwear has its place on the street.

The fight is never over


2018 marked a significant step for Venum: entering the realm of manufacturing professional boxing equipment. Our goal now is to replicate what has been done in Muay Thai or MMA by establishing ourselves as the world standard of boxing by offering boxing gloves of unrivalled quality.

The Rungis CrossFit box, VNM, has been a Venum Training Camp Paris affiliate since the end of 2018 and has one of the best European CrossFit teams: the Elite Competitor team! The first VNM Contest, national competition of CrossFit, takes place in 2019. This involvement with CrossFit highlights the brands position and its focus on developing real equipment for real athletes.

One of the hardest things is to become a champion, but remaining one is the real challenge… One of the major challenges for Venum is to continue to being a real "trendsetter" of the combat sports industry. Boosting trends, innovating and staying the benchmark in MMA, Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai and Martial Arts is at the heart of our strategy.
